2021 Volkswagen Atlas Debuts at Chicago Auto Show
Volkswagen recently debuted the all-new 2021 Volkswagen Atlas at the Chicago Auto Show. This 7-passenger SUV received an updated exterior design accompanied by upgrades to the interior and new advanced technology.
“The Atlas has been a huge success story for Volkswagen of America, helping us to position the brand with a greater emphasis on the family-friendly SUVs that consumers are buying,” said Scott Keogh, president and CEO of Volkswagen Group of America. “This refreshed model brings all the functionality of the previous model, and ups the ante with new technology and more style.”
The 2021 Atlas received a range of standard interior upgrades from a new steering wheel to an 8-inch Composition Media Infotainment System. The new Atlas will also offer a variety of available features ambient lighting, 3-zone Climatronic Climate Control, ventilated front seats, heated rear seats. The 2021 Atlas will also offer Volkswagen Digital Cockpit, so Volkswagen drivers can customize their driving information cluster exactly how they want, and even turn it into a large navigation screen, so you can follow your directions with a quick glance down. The all new Atlas also allows you to keep your phone charged at all times with available wireless charging. So you can keep your favorite playlist going as you turn up the volume on the available Fender® Premium Audio System.
The 2021 Volkswagen Atlas now offers a suite of standard driver-assist technology including Forward Collision Warning and Autonomous Emergency Braking with Pedestrian Monitoring, Blind Spot Monitor, and Rear Traffic Alert. For Volkswagen drivers who want a little extra support behind the wheel, the 2021 Atlas will also now offer Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop and Go, Lane Keeping, System, Park Distance Control, Park Steering Assistant, and Overhead View Camera.
The new Atlas will also be available in two powertrains. Drivers can choose between a four-cylinder turbocharged and direct-injection TSI engine that produces 235 horsepower or a V6 that delivers 276 horsepower. Both are paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission and are available with Volkswagen’s 4Motion all-wheel-drive.
